• WHY THIS BLOG
  
  This blog is shaped for the use of Engineers working in Highways Department of Tamilnadu. Every year the Budget share for Highways sector in Tamilnadu is increasing. Especially last five year it increases tremendously. Due to increase in allotment, work load for Engineers also increases. Hence now it is very hard to follow the old manual procedure for preparation of estimate, supervising and preparation of quality control record and preparation of bill etc. As now most of the offices got their computer, using computer will reduce the overburden of engineers.
  During my meet with some of the Engineers across the state, I found that most of the talented Engineers have their own software and novel ideas to reduce the cumbersome works. I am also having some software in excel format which will be useful in preparation of estimate, quality control registers and etc.

NEEDS
We need software or simplified formats for the following things

• Simple road estimates ( Strengthening or improvement of existing roads)


• Road estimates ( New formation including curve design, earth work calculation etc)


• Simple culvert estimate ( pipe culvert and slab culvert)


• Bridge estimate – Design


• Bridge estimate – Detailed Estimate


• Quality control record formats


• Widening and strengthening software.


• Earth work calculation and patch calculation


• Various registers in excel format with necessary links
  
  
  
  I have the excel sheet type software for following items


• Income tax calculator.

It calculates the income tax to be paid. It also give ITR form -1 and acknowledgement form. Just enter all the data and get a perfect IT form

• Widening work and new formation work design as per IRC 37. (version 010110v)
  It will help to ascertain the various layers and its thickness for new and widening work based on CBR value.


• Strengthening work design as per IRC 81 ( version 010110v)
  It will help to attain the actual thickness needed based on the BBD test. It also recommends various layers and thickness of each layer based on deflection value.


• Gradation – quality control
  It automatically creates large number of examples with out repetition for gradation in BM, DBM, SDBC, BC, WBM, WMM, etc.


• Level reducing
  By entering the levels we can get the reduced levels . We can print it and it will be used as level book for future reference.


• Quality control tests for all works

It creates lot of combination of test results to suit your convenience for road works.

• Patch Creator

It creates lot of combination of patch measurements as per your requirement.

• Lean Mix Concrete Design

Just input some datas and get a perfect design of Lean Mix Concrete as per IRC 74. It will be more useful where width is narrow. Detailed design also available in this program.

• Design of retaining wall ( PCC / RR)

It gives a detailed design of PCC/RR retaining wall design. We can get an economic section based on trail and error method
